    Whatcom County is entering the final stage of a long public process to improve outdated rules for permitting fossil fuel industries at Cherry Point. After a year of review, the Whatcom Planning Commission is holding one final online public hearing on the land-use code amendments restricting fossil fuel industrial permitting in the Cherry Point zone.
    Brian Hamm Becomes Recording Secretary

Brian, a third-generation Teamster after his father and grandfather, became a member of Local 89 in 1986 when he began working at the newly created UPS Louisville Air Hub. At UPS, Brian worked as a marshaller and served as a steward for thirteen years, beginning in 1990.

It is fine however as we will no longer grant any extensions to management for any reason. The hammer swings both ways. Unfortunately I’m being stonewalled by the district manager as well.

    Secretary-Treasurer Johnny Bolton Retires

    On August 7th, 2020, Colvin “Johnny” Bolton retired from Teamsters Local 89 after 44 years of membership. Johnny became a Teamster at the age of 19 when he was hired at American Greetings in 1976. Three years later he ran for and won his first Steward. He served as a Steward for three years before being elected Chief Steward for his plant.
